Chasing Ghosts

I've been
Chasing ghosts and facing my fears
trying hard not to show my tears
but it's hard most days not to break down here
all is quiet but nothing is clear
I'm chasing ghosts that haunt my mind
it's safe to say it takes up most of my time
I hate to say it but it's killing me
holding on to fight this feeling
How can you win when you're fighting yourself?
How can you draw from an empty well?
I don't have answers and I'm not real sure
but day by day I find ways to endure
Chasing ghosts that haunt my mind
Safe to say it takes up most of my time
I hate to say it but it's killing me
Holding on to fight this feeling

Haunted Houses
03:00
|
|||
My mind is haunted by the ghosts of my past
the people I've known, some are living some have passed
and now I sit in this empty house alone
A husk of a man
a shell of flesh and bone
Poltergeists surround me
they're a making of my own
and I'm the only one who can hear them wail and moan
but if I close my eyes and pretend that they're gone
they have ways of reminding me that I'm never alone
I shuffle through these rooms like a zombie on the loose
an empty vessel without a purpose or a use
and all of my neighbors they cower in their fear
everyone knows this house is haunted here.

The Last Time
02:55

How can I explain this to you?
How can I explain
that all of my pain is right here?
With my heart in my hands
how can I make you understand how I feel?
How I feel
Yesterday
It all seemed so plain
but I'm standing in the rain with my shoes soaking through
and my voice is hoarse from sobbing
as I stand out here knocking "please come home"
please come home
Then I'll slowly take your hands into mine
as we both put our hearts on the line
and I need for you to trust me
this all happened so abruptly this last time
but this is the last time
